Who We Are

Taiwanese-American entrepreneur and investor with diverse experience in education, IT, and venture capital.

With deep roots in the startup ecosystem, Mark has played a pivotal role as a General Partner in two early-stage technology funds: GD1 Fund 2 and Pinehurst Fund I. His portfolio includes over 30 early-stage tech companies, including standout entities like MaiCoin, Taiwan’s largest crypto wallet & exchange, CaCaFly, a premier digital media group, and e27, a leading tech media group in Southeast Asia. Mark's career began ambitiously as a co-founder of KKBox and Sina that laid the groundwork for his later successes.Beyond tech, he has been instrumental in founding several educational ventures, positioning him as a key influencer in international education and edtech. Currently, Mark's focus is on 11th Fleet, a company assisting foreign businesses in establishing a foothold in Taiwan and helping Taiwanese companies expand globally.Mark’s B.S. in Biological Science from Stanford University has fueled his ongoing passion for bridging business and technology.


Multifaceted startup builder with several co-founding roles spanning private education, edtech, and venture growth.

Ta-Wei's career began in Seoul at Chungdahm Learning where he played a critical role in expanding the organization to over 120 campuses across South Korea, ultimately aiding in its progression towards an IPO. In Beijing, Ta-Wei was on the founding team of Global Track, an afterschool program later acquired by Beilin International Education Group. His entrepreneurial journey continued with the co-founding of Shang Learning, a premier education consultancy specializing in U.S. boarding school and college admissions. In his most recent venture at Aptive Education, Ta-Wei drove the development of digital platforms designed to make high-quality admissions consulting accessible and affordable for students in Southern and Southeast Asia. His extensive operational expertise and unique deployment playbook has led to his involvement in several podcasts and publications.Ta-Wei studied Social Policy with a minor in Law, Societies & Justice from the University of Washington, Seattle.
